You need to be ready for diving. These are some tips to help you get started. Learn more about how to prepare and avoid back injuries. Check out the PADI or SSI diving guidelines. If you adhere to the rules, it can be an exciting and rewarding experience.

Diverse Diving as a Sport

Diverse divers are a popular activity for many reasons. Many find the experience relaxing and therapeutic, thanks to weightlessness, fish and the ocean. No matter what level of experience you have, diving can be enjoyed by all.

USA Diving's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, comprised of athletes, coaches, and thought leaders, will work to promote diversity in the sport. It will focus on the inclusion and growth of diverse athletes and staff.

Preparation for diving as an activity

Many people consider diving more than a hobby. The skills required to compete are a combination of a variety of skills. Divers will need somersaults, twists, and other skills to be qualified for the competition. There are many different ways to prepare yourself for a meet.

It is important to practice. It takes a lot of energy to dive. A single hour of diving is approximately 500 calories. Avoid eating empty stomachs and avoid eating fatty meals while diving. Dive time can cause you to become extremely dehydrated. Make sure to drink lots of fluids. You may also feel the urge to "pee" when diving.

Dangers of back injuries

The back injury is the most common type of injury that can happen when you dive. Your body enters the pool at around 15 feet per seconds, and any impact or obstruction to your spine can cause damage. The twisting of your spine or neck can also cause damage to nerves and ligaments.

Depending on the severity of your back injury, you can reduce your risk of suffering a back injury by carefully adjusting your weight distribution. You can reduce pressure on your lower back by placing your weights near your waist. The weights can be placed on the tank or inside your BCD.

PADI and SSSI diving certifications

You'll likely find many training agencies if you decide to learn scuba diving. You will have to choose one or the other depending on your personal preference. The choice of agency could determine the direction of your diving career. For example, if you already dive with an SSI-affiliated dive center, you're likely to want to switch to a PADI-affiliated one. On the other side, BSAC-certified dive buddies are a great resource to learn from.

Although SSI has experienced steady growth over the last few years, it will still be many years before it can match PADI in size. It has taken a major step into online certification. It now offers an app that lets divers log their dives and receive course materials from instructors. They can also view their qualifications. While the app is similar to PADI Dive Explorer's, there are some significant differences.
