Dive masters are professionals who help others go underwater. They lead organized and recreational dives. Job description of a dive master
What is the job of a divemaster? A variety of tasks are involved, such as supervising customers, reviewing the risks of diving and delivering briefings to guide groups through a dive. A job description for a divemaster can be more diverse. Divers can be responsible in many different areas of the dive shop, such as general operation and social presence.
Scuba instructors can teach and supervise divers in open water and swimming pools. They also supervise other activities like navigation exercises. Open water dive instructors are responsible for leading students on tour portions of the dives, which include the navigation exercise and surface swim portion. Instructors may also have to instruct certified divers in scuba reviews. Diving instructors' legal responsibility varies from one country to the next. In certain countries, however, the legal responsibility of diving instructors is exempted if the instructor signs a waiver.
Certification requirements
A course is required to become a competent Divemaster. Divemaster classes cover topics such as managing divers, setting up dive sites, and finding the best flow. Additionally, candidates must have at least 60 logged dives. Instructors on dive courses can also benefit from the assistance of Divemasters, who can help novice divers learn theory and practice their skills.
Dive masters need to pass two parts of the exam in addition to taking classes. Candidats must score at most 75% for each section of the exam to pass it. The PADI Instructor Guide and the eRDPML will be used to prepare for the exam. Students also need to prepare an emergency assistance plan and complete five waterskills exercises. The sum of all scores must equal at least 15 After the course is completed, all divemasters are required to be certified.
Internship required
To become a Divemaster, there are many internship opportunities. You may be asked to assist in other PADI Courses, or even set up dive sites. Skill circuits may also require you to help. The internship will follow a specific pattern. A typical internship will last eight weeks. In that time you could become an Advanced Open Water Diver. After four to six weeks of training, you will be able to become a Divemaster or Diveguide.
There may be an opportunity to do a free Dive master internship, in addition to the paid internships. Free internships can be a bit frustrating, but you will have plenty of time for study and advice from a Divemaster. Additionally, you may be able to receive the necessary manuals, certification, and equipment as part of your internship.
