Bonaire ranked second under Advanced Diving.
Scuba Diving Magazine readers have named Bonaire a top Caribbean/Atlantic dive destination for the fifth consecutive year. Bonaire won the Best Shore Diving Destination title. It also received honorable mentions for Best Underwater Photography, Best Visibility and Best Advanced Diving. The magazine's November 2021 edition will include the publication of the award winners chosen by readers.
Bonaire has many bike and hiking trails that visitors can enjoy. The island even has a national park where you can view flamingos. The island also has its own water filtering system, which makes the tap water safe for consumption. 2016 saw the island host 114 healthy nests of turtles. This was their highest nesting season.

It is easy to get to dive sites because the fringing coral runs parallel to the island's leeward shore. The reef is shallow and warm, allowing for visibility to reach up to 80 feet/100 meters.
