Certification courses are offered by several organizations. Here are some of them: NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver, SSI Adventure Diver, and Open Water Diver.
PADI Enriched Air Diver
PADI Enriched Air Divers is for divers who desire to extend their dive time. It includes a short classroom session as well as home study. The EANx course covers the oxygen content of the scuba tank and how to use a scuba oxygen analyser. It also covers standard procedures for recording the oxygen percentage in the tank.
You can prolong the time you can stay underwater with Nitrox-enriched air divers without having to make frequent stops. Because there is less nitrogen in the air mixture, they are safer. Also, enriched air mix usually has 32% or 36% oxygen. This makes them great for shallower dives.
NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver
An enriched-air diver certification is a good step towards taking your diving to the next level. This course covers the basics of blending, as well as the hazards associated with high oxygen concentrations and how to use the equipment. Moreover, you'll learn how to operate a dive computer and analyze the contents of your tanks. A standard air dive table will also be covered. The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox training course was designed to give students the skills and knowledge required to dive in poor visibility. The course teaches divers to use special equipment, navigate in the dark and communicate with a buddy. They will be eligible for the SSI Nitrox Specialty Certification once they have successfully completed the course.
SSI Open Water Diver
The SSI Open Water Diver course is an internationally recognized certification program that includes three parts: academic learning, in-water pool training, and multiple open-water dives. You will learn to plan and dive with enriched oxygen mixes of up to 40% oxygen during this course. This can increase your bottom time and reduce your surface intervals. It may also help to avoid decompression sickness.
PADI and SSI differ in how they handle certifications. PADI certification requires you to buy your manual. With an SSI certificate, however, your card will be issued by the dive center in which you have completed your course. PADI certification centers can also issue temporary cards which you can use to prove your certification.
