White Point dive site is one of the best in LA. It has white bacterial mats along the bottom and is close to the hypo-thermal hotsprings. This dive site features an old shipwreck as well as rock reefs and kelp. Giant sea stars, urchins, and cold water anemones are also common sights here. High tide is best for diving.

Leo Carillo

Leo Carrillo La, a state park is located along the southern coastline of Los Angeles County, California. It is part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, and features 1.5 miles of beach that extends into the Santa Monica Mountains. The pristine waters off Leo Carrillo State Park are a great place for scuba divers.

Divers have the option to choose from three main sites at Leo Carrillo. These dive sites are great options for beginners. They have easy entry points, ample parking, and offer great diving opportunities. They're popular for night diving as well as lobster hunting. There's also plenty of marine species to be seen.

Santa Barbara Island

Santa Barbara Island has some great offshore dive spots. You can take a boat ride to reach these amazing dive sites. These areas are great for photography and hunting, as they are usually very rocky. These areas are also home to many healthy kelp bed and purple hydro Coral. Moreover, the visibility here is excellent for Southern California waters.


It is possible to kayak and snorkel on the island. You can even tent camp, if the weather allows. There is a large population pinnipeds on the island, which includes harbor seals. These animals can also be found in the rocky areas around a sea lion rookery. They are located at many overlooks on island.

Anacapa Island

There is a wide variety of marine life on Anacapa Island. The area is home to one of the first Marine Protected Areas in the United States. The region offers diving that is not only great for beginners but also for seasoned divers. The waters around the island have a moderately warm temperature, which makes them ideal for wetsuit diving. The surface temperature can reach as high as 70°F (21°C) during the summer and fall. In the winter, temperatures can plummet to 50°F (10°C). Using a 7mm wetsuit is recommended. During these months, visibility is usually at least 100 ft (30M).

Dive charter boats, as well the Island Packers, can take you to Anacapa. You will find many dive sites on the island, including a 40-foot tall arch rock. You can also view these sites from the surface of the water using snorkeling gear.

Veteran's park

Veteran's Park, a Green Space located on Ocean Drive, has a playground as well as fields. This is a great place to bring your family together. It is close to beaches. You can enjoy a stunning view of the ocean at the park, especially on a sunny afternoon. It's open all year round and has lots to offer.

Access is easy from the parking lot. If you're a first-time diver, Veteran's Park is the best place to start your diving adventure. You can park easily and find restrooms. The meter will always be checked and there's an outdoor shower where you can wash your gear. There is also a changing area. However, the restrooms are closed at dusk.
