Molasses Reef
Popular diving area is the Molasses Reef south. Here you will find large grouper, sharks and tarpon. The dive site is in a Sanctuary Preservation Area so fishing is not allowed. The name Molasses Reef came from the fact that the SS Slobodna, a ship trying to transport cotton back to Europe, ran aground here.
Southpoint Divers
Southpoint Divers, Key West, is an award-winning dive centre. It is Key West's oldest dive center and has been operating since 1991. You can take classes or book a charter. M/V Phoenix comes with a cameratable, fresh water showers as well as storage space. It also has two dive ladders. It is capable of ferrying up to 40 divers. Southpoint Divers does not take more than 27 divers.
