Scuba Diving Magazine's Readers' Choice Awards have been revealed. Readers have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dive destination through these awards. Aggressor Adventures, an Bahamas dive center, won 79 awards this year. This is a 34-award advantage over the runner up. Readers can also vote online for their favorite dive sites and locations.
Bonaire was ranked second in Advanced Diving.
Scuba Diving Magazine readers selected Bonaire as the Caribbean/Atlantic's top dive destination for the fifth time in a row. Bonaire won the Best Shore Diving Destination title. It also received honorable mentions for Best Underwater Photography, Best Visibility and Best Advanced Diving. The magazine's November 2021 issue features the reader's choice awards.
Bonaire has many bike and hiking trails that visitors can enjoy. You can even see flamingos in a national park. The island also has its own water filtering system, which makes the tap water safe for consumption. The island was home for 114 turtle nests in 2016, which is the highest number of nests in one season.

It is easy to get to dive sites because the fringing coral runs parallel to the island's leeward shore. Visibility is possible up to 80 feet/100m because the reef is shallow and warm.
