Deep divers have the ability to dive to depths higher than those usually considered safe. It could be because there are certain limits that have been set by local authorities. You may also have the chance to visit some of the most stunning underwater environments in the world, like the Galapagos and Elphinstone Reefs. Continue reading to learn more about the conditions and locations that make deep diving such a special experience.
Elphinstone Reef
For the best underwater experience, dive at Elphinstone Reef on a liveaboard. The location is also possible to dive in reverse, so be sure to practice your backward roll. Early morning dives are the best time to see sharks or other marine life. Additionally, you can see more tropical fish. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to get close to the resident hawksbill turtle.
Blue Hole Belize
The Great Blue Hole is a giant marine sinkhole located off the coast of Belize. This spectacular diving site is located close to Lighthouse Reef's center. The Great Blue Hole is 124m deep and 318m across. It covers 70,650 sq. metres. This area is home to some of the most stunning underwater scenes anywhere in the world. Deep divers will love the cave-like environment of this Belize diving destination, where the water is warm and the visibility is high.

Galapagos
You can become a deep diver in Galapagos for a challenging but rewarding experience. Galapagos Islands have a lot of fascinating marine life. Because of this, the water is very cold and has limited visibility. The cool season (June through October) is the best time for diving in the Galapagos Islands. It has cooler temperatures and stronger currents. You can find this helpful guide to scuba diving the Galapagos Islands if you are unsure if you are ready.
Elphinstone
For its beautiful soft corals and vibrant marine life, dive the Elphinstone Reef. The reef is 300 metres long and lies between 20 and 40 meters deep. It is covered by large gogonians, sponges and sea whips. Drop in to the finger-shaped plateau for redtooth triggerfish and giant trevally. You may even see a hammerhead shark, which is very rare and very elusive. This dive site has clear water and strong drift.
Belize Blue Hole
If you've ever wished to dive into the Caribbean Sea, the Great Blue Hole will be a familiar name. Located about 62 miles from the mainland of Belize, the Blue Hole is a near-perfectly round hole. It is located at the Lighthouse Reef, about 125 m deep. While snorkelers and divers have been enjoying the surface waters of this reef for decades, few have ever ventured to its depths.
Elphinstone and a buddy group
Elphinstone is also known as Elfinstone and it's a great boat dive. This saltwater dive spot is located in Marsa Alam. It has a maximum depth 150 feet (46m). The visibility ranges from 61 to 70 feet (19 to 21 meters).
