
If you are thinking of your next scuba diving adventure, think about going somewhere remote and exotic. In addition to the well-known dive sites such as Shark Reef Marine Reserve in the Philippines, you might also consider diving the coral reefs off the coast of Indonesia. These locations are known for their resident manta rays, weird muck diving critters, and other amazing sights. You'll find yourself swooning over the opportunity to explore these areas.
Sipadan
Sipadan, one of the most popular spots in the Philippines for divers, lures them to dive. This area is located in the middle of a coral triangle, making it one of the most biodiverse marine environments in the world. You will see turtles, sharks and lionfish in this area. The visibility ranges from 15 to 40 meters so you won't have any trouble exploring the underwater world surrounding Sipadan.

Shark Reef Marine Reserve
The Shark Reef Marine Reserve is home to some of most amazing dives around the globe. Visits to the marine reserve are unforgettable because you'll be surrounded with many species fish and coral. There are 125 types of sharks as well as more than 5,000 seaweed species and mollusks. Heart Reef, which contains a variety of fish and corals is the most impressive, is home to many amazing species. The structure measures 17 meters in width and is an amazing sight from the air.
Half Moon Caye Wall
Many types of marine life can be found at this spectacular dive spot. A recent discovery shows that the wall is also home to sharks, who have recently named it their new home. Look out for sea fans and brain coral while you're at the wall. A turtle or two might be possible. If you're feeling adventurous you can explore the underwater tunnels among coral outcrops.
Yongala
There are several options for diving the SS Yongala. Townsville, just three hours away by fastboat, is the starting point for liveaboards. These dives are approximately 30m deep, and are suitable for Advanced certified divers. For a little more, you might consider a daytrip to dive the SS Yongala. The trip takes three hours in total and includes two tanks.
Punta Vicente Roca
Punta VicenteRoca dive site is unique in that it is 200km from the closest inhabited island. You can see many sea creatures here including the Galapagos Marine Iguana, red-lipped Batfish and schooling blackstriped Salema. Photographers may also be able to capture the rare Galapagos flightless Cormorants.

Bonaire
Scuba divers will be delighted by the diversity and beauty of Bonaire's diving sites. There are many outstanding dive spots on the leeward side, including the 1000 Steps, named after the narrow, long stairway that leads to it. With clear water and lots of schooling fish, this site is a favorite among divers and snorkellers. Combined with the famous Karpata dive site, this site offers incredible drop-offs and massive coral formations.
