Scuba Diving St Lucia

scuba diving equipment packages

St Lucia offers many opportunities for scuba diving. Some of the most spectacular dives can be found near the Anse Chastanet reef. These dives are accessible to anyone who isn't used to scuba diving. They are 10-25 feet in length and contain some of the best corals.

Anse Chastanet Reef

Anse Chastanet Resort is situated on a 600-acre estate that includes two beaches of volcanic black and pristine reefs. The resort offers excellent snorkeling, scuba diving, and other non-motorized watersports. You can take a relaxing stroll on the sandy beach or join a guided hike. There is also an organic farm on the estate and a chocolate lab.

Ansechastanet has been awarded numerous awards including five Best-of-Readers' Choice awards. It is great for beginners as well as more experienced divers. You will find wrecks, wall dives, and boat diving in the reef. Many divers enjoy night dives on the Anse Chastanet reef.

Dani Koyomaru

Divers who wish to dive in Saint Lucia can choose from a number of options. You can either visit Rosemond's Trench or go deeper. The site is well-known for its huge schools of tropical fish, man-sized sponges and intricate coral formations. You can also dive here to see the famous Saint Lucia coral reef system.

Just a few miles off the coast is Daini Koyomaru's wreck. This Japanese dredger fell in 1996. The wreck of the ship can still be seen partially submerged. Upturned decks are visible, as well as inscriptions in Japanese and other languages.

Dani Koyomaru dredger

Daini Koyomaru, an old Japanese fishing vessel, was dredged to its current location in 1996. It's a spectacular wreck to dive. It's 74 meters long and about twenty-four meters tall. The dredger can be sunk on its side and is now safe for experienced divers. Among its resident marine life are French angelfish, garden eels, moray eels, and barracudas.

Another popular St Lucia diving spot is the Lesleen M, an 165-foot Japanese dredger. Although this site has shallow depths, it is home to some fascinating creatures such as scorpionfish and flying dragonflies.

Soufriere Marine Management Area

The Soufriere Marine Management Area in St Lucia is an excellent place to dive and get close to the coral reefs. This marine management area was established to preserve the waters and foster a healthy ecosystem. It was established because of environmental degradation and conflict between resource users. SMMA was created in response to conflicts between local fishermen (scuba divers) and the SMMA.

The Soufriere Pitons site has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. It is protected as a nature preserve and hosts some of St Lucia's best diving. You will find many coral species here, and a lot of tropical fish. This area is well-known for their passage of numerous species of cetaceans, as well predators. Divers can also observe the beautiful marine biodiversity.
