Advanced technical diving certifications are available for those who wish to pursue them. TDI offers Intro to Tech and Advanced Nitrox courses, while PADI offers Tec Trimix, Deep Diver and Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. This course covers equipment operation, gas switching, and advanced emergency procedures such as liftbag deployment. For more information, please visit the TDI Website.

TDI Intro To Tech Course

The TDI Intro to Tech is a standalone training program that allows you to expand your recreational training and learn more advanced technical skills. It can also be used to introduce you to TDI’s advanced courses like Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. You can also use it to refresh those who have previously taken technical courses. During the course technical instructors from TDI will evaluate your skills.

The TDI Intro to Tech course was designed for divers who are not familiar with twin cylinders. The course also covers advanced buoyancy control, gas management, and more. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. You can take the course in open cenotes or at sea, which offer similar conditions to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning skills will also be learned. This course will improve your open water diving skills as well as introduce you to technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will also be covered. The course is strictly non-decompression. However, you are allowed to use enriched nitrox during the course.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures

TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures Courses prepare divers to perform accelerated and staged compression. Students will learn advanced gas planning skills and management techniques to ensure their dives are as safe and enjoyable as possible. Students also learn how to manage their equipment and plan for contingencies. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.

This course can be taken separately or as part a certification in Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses are performance-based, lasting four days. Six dives above 30 meters are required. The course is customized to each student's experience and their individual requirements. This course prepares students to dive in advanced technical conditions, including wrecks in Scapa Flow or the UK.

PADI Tec Trimix course

The PADI Tec Trimix 90 course is the final stage of the PADI Technical Diver open circuit path. This certification course opens doors to deeper dives and allows divers to discover new places. This course is for experienced tec divers who wish to expand their diving range and explore deeper waters. You must hold a valid diving license and pass a medical exam to become certified in trimix diving. You will need two 30cf-stage bottles and a facial mask to be certified in trimix diving.

PADI Tec Trimix 65 requires that the diver have logged at minimum 350 dives. The course also emphasizes technical diving techniques. Multiple teaching scenarios are also included in the course. It is the most advanced course in technical diving certification. However, it is worth noting that the requirements are more demanding than the standard PADI Tec Diver course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

The PADI Tec Deep Diver certification is a more advanced course for recreational divers. This certification covers four dives and includes a practice of safety stops as well as descents. You will also learn to use technical diving equipment like a side-mounted cylinder, EANx and EANx. Additionally, you will learn how to plan deep dives and manage your gas supply. It's possible to take your lessons online or offline, and the PADI Tec eLearning program allows you to do it at your own pace.

This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you must be certified by Tec 50 from an approved organization. You must be able to dive at 50m, deep diving and pure oxygen. The Tec Deep Instructor course is also offered by the PADI Course Directors. Tec Deep Diver certification will be issued to you by the PADI Course Director after completion of the Tec Deep Instructor training.
