Molasses Reef
The south section of the Molasses Reef is a popular diving site. You'll find large grouper, sharks, eels, tarpon, and eagle rays here. This dive spot is within a Sanctuary Preservation Area. Fishing is prohibited. The name Molasses Reef came from the fact that the SS Slobodna, a ship trying to transport cotton back to Europe, ran aground here.
Southpoint Divers
Southpoint Divers of Key West is an award winning dive center. It is Key West’s oldest dive shop and has been in operation since 1991. You can take classes or book a charter. M/V Phoenix comes with a cameratable, fresh water showers as well as storage space. It also has two dive ladders. It can accommodate up to 40 divers. Southpoint Divers does not take more than 27 divers.
